About My Real Hour
A plain calculator that turns an hourly wage into yearly, monthly and paycheck amounts, before and after federal taxes.
Where the numbers come from
The site does its own arithmetic. The tax rates and limits it uses are read from official sources and checked by hand, and every page shows the date of the last check.
- Internal Revenue Service, Revenue Procedure 2025-32: income tax rate tables and standard deduction for tax year 2026.
- Internal Revenue Service, news release IR-2025-103 (October 9, 2025): tax inflation adjustments for tax year 2026.
- Internal Revenue Service, Topic no. 751: Social Security and Medicare withholding rates.
- Social Security Administration, Contribution and Benefit Base: the 2026 Social Security wage base.
- U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division: the federal minimum wage.
Figures are for tax year 2026.
What the estimates are, and are not
After-tax amounts are estimates of federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare for someone whose only income is this job and who takes the standard deduction. They do not include state or local taxes, benefits taken out of pay, tax credits or overtime.
Nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice. For a decision that matters, check with the IRS or a tax professional.
Your numbers stay with you
The calculator runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to us and is not stored. See the privacy page.
